U4gm POE2 Trial of Chaos Guide When to End Your Run
#1
Trial of Chaos rewards should solve problems, not create new ones. Whether you are managing earned currency or comparing POE 2 Orbs, start with a clear upgrade target. Update 0.5.5 shifted completed Trial rewards toward Currency and Soul Cores, making spending decisions more important than simply collecting another pile of loot.

Fix the Weakness That Ends Your Runs

Before spending anything, identify why your character struggles. If ordinary encounters exhaust your recovery, prioritize defenses and sustain. If bosses survive too long, investigate your weapon and damage scaling. Buy an improvement that addresses the actual bottleneck rather than whichever item looks impressive.

Evaluate replacements as complete packages. A stronger weapon is not automatically better if equipping it disrupts attributes, resistances, or essential skill requirements. Keep your existing item until the replacement works with the rest of your equipment, and reserve enough currency to repair any gaps.

Give Valuable Rewards a Specific Job

Room rewards now arrive through a chest after each encounter, reducing the punishment of dying later in the Trial. Treat those smaller payouts as a maintenance budget rather than permission to start an expensive crafting project immediately.

Save substantial rewards for a named purchase: a weapon with the right modifiers, defensive body armour, or an accessory that resolves several requirements together. Set a spending ceiling before crafting. If an item needs repeated improvements before becoming usable, compare that expense with buying a finished replacement.

Use Soul Cores With Your Whole Build in Mind

Update 0.5.5 revised numerous Soul Core effects and added single-copy limits to several existing cores. Read the current item text before committing to a socket setup, especially when following an older build guide.

Ask what each core contributes during difficult encounters. An offensive option may suit a character with reliable defenses, while a defensive choice may be preferable when survival remains inconsistent. Keep cores that support a planned equipment change; consider trading unrelated ones instead of forcing your build around every reward.

Extend Runs Only When the Numbers Make Sense

Completing a ten-Trial Inscribed Ultimatum allows two immediate continuations, carrying modifiers and reward quality forward while offering different Trialmaster Fragments. That opportunity is worth evaluating, but continuing should remain a deliberate decision.

You can also leave and resume from the same room. Use that flexibility when concentration slips. For farming, judge progress by useful rewards over the entire session, including slow encounters and failed attempts, rather than your deepest successful run.

The strongest reward strategy protects what already works while funding meaningful improvements. Even when considering Path of Exile 2 Orbs for sale, define the upgrade first and avoid spending merely because currency is available.
