Can we keep a standard troubleshooting checklist for new setups?
I currently verify network, DNS, time sync, package endpoint, and free disk space.
Would love to add any missing checks from experienced users.

Great idea. We recommend this order:
1) network reachability
2) DNS and time sync
3) package endpoint availability
4) storage/write permissions
5) test install + rollback
